Can I play with players from websites like chess.com, ICC chess, etc.?
At this stage, the board can interact only with the Square Off Platform i.e.: the user can play Board vs Board or Board vs Square Off App. However, multi-platform connectivity is one of our primary objectives and to make that happen, we are in talks with the leading chess websites. Hoping to begin with our beta trial soon.
Rest assured, Square Off supports online connectivity for you to play with anybody in the entire world who’s on the Square Off app. Once we get associated with the popular platforms, you will be able to play on them by simply updating the app. And that day doesn’t seem too far.

Is an App required to play on the board? Is the smartphone always connected during gameplay?
Yes, to the run the Square Off board, the Square Off App is required to be running on a smartphone. The connectivity is established over BT (phone stays connected during gameplay) and used useful for:
-Allows the board to have a classical wooden (non tech) design with a single button. Making it a simple plug and play device.
-Side Selection, opening book selection, and other technical chess setup is done using the app.
-Selection of various Chess engines and processing of moves is done on the app.
-The app makes the board interactive. (e.g.: display of message, taking input from user, etc)
-The phones Data/WiFi capability enables you to play on the board from anywhere with anyone.
-The App seamlessly allows the board to be updated with more features as they get developed over time.
-The board could have its own dedicated hardware for all the above but the biggest advantage of using the App is we are able offer the boards at a VERY AFFORDABLE price point.

What is the difference between Kingdom Set and Grand Kingdom Set?
The Grand Kingdom set has following additional features:
-Additional capture space where the opponent’s captured pieces are placed automatically at their designated position -Auto Rest of board after current game is over. -Comes with Special Edition Premium Rosewood chess set -Board size is bigger due to additional capture space but play area is same as Kingdom Set

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
